International Islamic University

International Islamic University, Islamabad is an international seat of Islamic learning, in Pakistan, Which provides every opportunity for an all-round and harmonious development of individuals and society and reconstruction of human thought.

History of IIUI

The foundation of the University was laid on the first day of the 15th Hijrah Century, Muharram 1, 1401 (November 11, 1980). This landmark of the beginning of the new century symbolizes the aspirations and hopes of the Muslim Ummah for an Islamic renaissance. The desire to produce scholars and practitioners, imbued with Islamic learning, character and personality, and capable to meet the economic, social, political, and intellectual needs of modern times is the aim of this University.

The Mission

To develop the International Islamic University as the Premier seat of learning in South Asia with special emphasis on Islamic disciplines, the Hadith, Fiqh, History, Islamic Thought & Civilization and Social Sciences occupying the central position.

The Vision

To develop an international Islamic seat of higher learning, research instruction and training in various branches of knowledge with special emphasis on Islamic Studies, Science & Technology, Social Sciences and humanities to be taught, studied, developed and reconstructed in such a way as to produce a balanced and harmonious human personality, duly informed of and embedded in the Islamic world

Organizational Chart

The supreme authority of the university vests in the board of Trustees. The President of Pakistan is the Chancellor of the university. He is assisted by a Pro-chancellor and a Rector. The execution of the policies laid down by the board of Trustees is the responsibility of board of Governors. .

Facilities

Students at this university are provided with a series of different facilities according to their needs.

Campus The New Campus is located in the H-10 Sector of Islamabad and is fast taking shape as a symbol of Islamic Architecture. Its 704 acre land provides ample scope for future expansion including housing for teachers, students and employees and sports facilities. All the teaching Faculties, a general library, and a large number of student’s hostels are located on this Campus.... The Female Campus The University is providing separate but equal educational facilities to the girls. The Women Section boosts well equipped class rooms, laboratories and Computer Labs. A new Academic Block is coming up. A Cafeteria and Shopping Complex has been added for the girls. A new Gymnasium is under construction. The University at a Glance! President of Pakistan is the Chancellor of the University. The University was established in 1401 A.H (1980 A.D) and was awarded charter in 1985 through an Act of Parliament in order to implement a resolution of the Islamic Summit Conference. 43 eminent scholars from 11 countries are Member of the Board of Trustees. The University has an enrollment of over 15,000 students including 1500 Doctoral and Post- Graduate Students from more than 40 countries. Exclusive campus for female students with enrollment of over 5,500. Biggest University of the Potohar region. New campus spread over 704 acres of land in Sector H-10, Islamabad. Red bricks building with magnificent architectural design, based on Islamic tradition, specious air- conditioned lecture rooms, modern auditoriums, seminar rooms, and fully equipped labs with latest Hardware/Software facilities. Four Major Libraries: Central Library, IRI, Shariah Academy and Dawah Academy Libraries having combined collection of over 0.3 million books. In addition to journals and periodicals etc. The University has a fleet of around 40 buses to provide transportation facility to male and female students separately all over Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Taxila areas. Three Medical Centers and a model pathology laboratory. Continued expansion in the fields of Islamic Sciences, Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, and Medicine and Engineering Sciences.
